Our Vision |
HRC envisions a world where all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
|
Our Mission |
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve LGBTQ equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ people and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
Founded in 1980, HRC advocates on behalf of LGBTQ Americans, mobilizes grassroots actions in diverse communities, invests strategically to elect fair-minded individuals to office and educates the public about LGBTQ issues. |
Local Leadership |
HRC Chicago is led by a team of volunteers called a Steering Committee: volunteers who chair one or more Subcommittees and make up the leadership team of the local HRC community. The Steering Committee is comprised of both Board members and other HRC volunteer leaders appointed by the Board to specific roles.
The mission of the Human Rights Campaign Steering Committee is to sustain the vision, mission and goals of HRC, provide funding for HRC programmatic work and to provide local leadership and advocacy for HRC’s objectives. |
